Violet

Violet was rescued from a manure pit underneath a huge battery cage egg farm in June 2013. She was completely and utterly stuck in the manure. She would have died there unable to move in the next couple of days. Sadly this happens to chickens all over the world in cage, barn and free range farms. They are thrown down into the manure pits when they look unwell by workers and left to die there. Violet was lucky, so very lucky. It took all night to get her clean.

These days Violet loves to jump and fly. She is one of the stars of my “Jumping For Joy” series. She can soar to the skies with the best of them.
